Rosneft says limits transportation of staff at Priobskoye field

MOSCOW, Apr 1 (PRIME) -- RN-Yuganskneftegaz, a subsidiary of Russian oil major Rosneft, has restricted transportation of personnel and equipment at the Priobskoye oilfield and closed two villages of rotation workers for quarantine, but oil production is going on as usual, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District’s Deputy Governor Alexander Tirtoka said that more than 20 rotation workers of the field were hospitalized as they had contacted with a colleague who was infected with the coronavirus.

“Transportation of personnel and equipment has been temporary restricted at the Priobskoye field. Drivers are prohibited from leaving their cabins to exclude contacts with the other workers. Private transportation of personnel is also banned. Workers are recommended organize logistics taking into account the fuel stock that would allow them to finish travelling without visiting the fueling stations,” the company said.

“RN-Yuganskneftegaz is taking all the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus infection at the Priobskoye field and at the other facilities. Rotation villages Merkur and Pionerny are closed for quarantine,” the company said, adding that it organized intense medical inspections of personnel, additional disinfection of rooms, and delivery of food and water.

At the same time, all production operations at facilities of RN-Yuganskneftegaz are going on as usual, the company said.
